How to Join

Procedure for Membership of Bowral Pistol Club

1. Download an application form (see links below) or obtain an application form and a NSW Firearms Registry temporary exemption certificate from the Club Secretary.

2. Complete and return all forms with required fees to the Club Secretary.

3. The applicant is requested to attend the monthly Committee Meeting where the application form will be tabled.

4. Probationary membership is approved on acceptance from the Committee and Firearms Registry.

5. Probationary period is 12 months. Firstly the applicant is expected to do a range safety course, which will be done by the Club Captain of Club Range Officers prior to using any Club or members' pistols.

During the first 6 months, the member must complete six matches. These six matches must include a minimum of 3 Air Pistol matches and 3 live fire matches. The Club Captain will oversee the new members safety procedures prior to the purchase of their first pistol.

A further minimum of four matches are required during the second 6 months of the probationary period prior to licence upgrade to a Category H target pistol licence.
