Welcome!
Bowral Pistol Club was established in 1971. We were originally located at Mandemar and moved to our current location in the Belanglo State Forest in the late 1980's. Our current facilities have slowly been upgraded and we now have a comfortable clubhouse with kitchen and bathroom facilities. We have a Single Action Range, a 100m Metallic Silhouette Range and four 25m ranges. Bowral Pistol Club also has an Air Range in Mittagong. Information on how to visit our Club is located here.
We have approximately 100 members. Past and present members have represented Australia internationally and won individual and team events at competitions such as the IMSSU World Championship, the European Championship, Oceania and the Bianchi Cup.
Pistol shooting is an enjoyable family sport available to people from 12 years and up. We offer discounts to families, spouses and pensioners. Information on how to join is located here.
Our sport is strictly regulated and very safety conscious. Pistol shooting in NSW is administered by the NSW Amateur Pistol Association (NSWAPA) and shooters and their firearms are licensed by the NSW Firearms Registry.

Our OPEN DAY held at the Belanglo Range on Sunday October 12th 2008 was a great success, where, under supervision, over 40 new visitors handled and fired 22 semi-automatic pistols; 38 revolvers and 22 rifles. There were also demonstrations of the more fun shooting disciplines - ISPC, Single Action and Black Powder. Several have also subsequently attended the Air Range and joined BPC.
CHANGES TO FIREARMS ACT 1996 and REGULATIONS 2006 brought about by the Firearms Amendment Act 2008 commenced on October 1st 2008. An information fact sheet outlining the changes is available at www.police.nsw.gov.au/firearms. A most-welcome change now allows unlicensed people to try shooting as a hobby [or to attend a safety course] under direct supervision at either of our club ranges.
